GAA v Clonard

Today the team traveled to Clonard where the girls and boys had a game each. These were the first games of the season, and with only two training sessions under our belt it was going to be tough.

The girls battled hard and never gave up. They were unlucky to lose by only a kick of the ball. Some of the older players on our team selected Elizabeth Cooper as the player of the match, because she fought hard for every ball, kept everyone's spirits high and made a tremendous effort for the whole match. Great job, Elizabeth!

I couldn't believe the standard of football over at the boys' match. A huge effort was made by all players to try the skills they've been practicing. A noticeable feature throughout the game was the support play-players helping their teammates, calling for the ball and running off each other. Player of the match was Max Cooper. This was his first match, and he performed like someone who was playing all of his life! A very honest player, with a strong work ethic! Super work, Max!

Training next week on TUESDAY 2-3pm, match on THURSDAY.

Don't forget gear and gumshields!
