Green School Flag event in City North Hotel, Dublin.

Last Thursday, the 23rd of May, 2 members of the Green Schools Committee, Matthew Watson and Hannah Foy, attended an event in Dublin where they were presented with a Green Flag in recognition of the work done on the theme of Energy. They were accompanied by Ms Grisewood and Bernie and the day consisted of registration and a delicious lunch, followed by an award ceremony where various  members of An Taisce spoke about the importance of the Green Schools Programme, particularly given the challenges presented by Climate Change. Minister Damien English was also in attendance and congratulated the children on their hard work.  The children were then presented with their new flag and certificate.

Purple Day for Cystic Fibrosis

On the 2nd of June, our wonderful S.N.A. and school secretary, Bernie, will be taking part in the VHI Women's Mini Marathon 2019. Bernie is raising money for One in 1,000-Cystic Fibrosis Ireland (please see https://www.cfireland.ie/ for further information).

She has chosen this organisation because of the fantastic work they do, and to show her support for Aaron and Shane Pimlott, two of our pupils who have Cystic Fibrosis.

To support Bernie and Aaron and Shane, we are asking everyone to wear purple this Friday, May 10th, and bring in €2 which will go directly towards Bernie's fundraising.

Bernie also has a sponsor sheet in our staff room and an online fundraising page which you can access here: https://vhi-women-s-mini-marathon-2019.everydayhero.com/ie/one-in-1-000?fbclid=IwAR2Vq4Jkqx8rqhsu0Nn-EYabX4RT5ZIInqAY7x-ehx0AAHaBa_iQCVpm3dI

All donations greatly appreciated :)
