Christmas Party

Our annual school Christmas party is on Thursday, 21 December 2023 from 1pm to 3pm.

A kind reminder: a voluntary contribution of €5 per child or €10 per family will help cover event costs.

Activities include lunch for the kids, party games, individual gifts, a festive disco, and our annual raffle!

Many thanks to Monica from LHPR for visiting the middle & senior rooms recently to tell the children about all the amazing work they do on a voluntary basis in our local community.

A visit from the Road Safety Authority

Many thanks to Nicola from the RSA for visiting us today & talking to all class groups about the importance of road safety. Such a worthwhile presentation for all the children in our school.

Trip to Martry Mill

The senior room enjoyed a terrific tour of Martry Mill recently, Ireland's oldest working mill. 

Some lovely brown bread was baked with the freshly ground flour!

Senior Room School Tour 2023

The senior room had a great day out on their annual school tour. This year we visited the Aqua Zone in Blanchardstown followed by a trip to the Astro Park in Tallaght!

Active Week-Friday

We had Rob from Trim Celtic in today for soccer, Maths Trails, Active Week posters, acrostic poems and our annual sports day! Thank you so much to all of the coaches, teachers, clubs, staff and parents who helped us so much during this week!!

 

Active Week-Thursday

 

Today was another busy day for our Active School Week! Pauline came in for dancing and then the whole school went to the tennis courts! The older pupils have a soccer tournament too. 

Active Week-Wednesday

Today we had Chloe from School Fitness Ireland with us all day doing dance, fitness and box aerobics, and Shane in for rugby! 

 

Active Week-Tuesday

 We kicked off Active Week today! Many thanks to Braveheart Martial Arts Academy, Trim Pitch and Putt Club and Deirdre Kilrane of An tIasc Holistic Therapies.

Active School Week

 Active Week is next week! 

The children will need to bring in €10 for the week of activities. 

If anyone has tennis rackets and golf clubs the children can use, please bring them in with names on them. The children will also need to wear sun cream every day, and bring extra water. The children can wear the school tracksuits/shorts all week. 

Reminder that Sports Day is on Friday. 

We are extremely grateful to the coaches who are giving up their time to come to our school for Active Week!!! 

 

Flying kites in Trim (a Jigsaw & Lidl initiative)

Many thanks to Brenda from Jigsaw for such a fun morning last Tuesday. It was great to meet up with the other schools in the town. The children had a brilliant morning making, decorating & flying kites! 

A terrific initiative for promoting positive mental health in our young children.

• Monday May 22nd - school closed for Webinar 7 & 8 of Primary Language Curriculum
• Wednesday May 31st - swimming lessons begin for senior room
• Monday June 5th - school closed for Bank Holiday
• Tuesday June 6th - beginning of Active School Week
• Friday June 9th - Sport's Day (1.00p.m. -2.50p.m.) All welcome & junior & senior infants stay until 2.50p.m.
• Thursday June 15th - senior room school tour 
• Thursday June 22nd - junior & middle room school tour 
• Tuesday June 27th - school closes @ 12.30p.m. for summer holidays

Planting in the Polytunnel!

The children in all class groups were busy planting in our polytunnel yesterday. 

Many thanks to our P.A for all their hard work in getting it set up for the children.

 

Fundraiser

Bishop's Medal Project work with Ms. Kilrane & Bernie

Such great art work was carried out in the school this week in preparation for the Bishop's Medal Project!

The theme of the project is 'Brigid 1500' & Ms. Kilrane & Bernie were hard at work with the children from the middle & senior rooms as they made a replica of Saint Brigid's Cathedral  & Saint Brigid's cloak!
