Junior Room Tour

Juniors and Seniors had a great day yesterday at Causey Farm for our school tour! We got very muddy and had loads of fun! We got to ride in a trailer, jump in the bog, do an obstacle course, blow massive bubbles, see farm animals and go through mazes! What a brilliant day!

THANK YOU

Myself and Ms Moriarty want to say a massive thank you to everyone who contributed today to our fundraiser. People were so generous, and we made a grand total of €391! Unbelievable!!!

This money is going to be spent on resources for the children we will be teaching. We have been told that there may not even be a pencil and a copy for each child. Thanks to your support we can ensure they have these basics, as well as posters, games, colours etc. which will be left over there for the children's continued use and learning.

Anyone who would like more information about Nurture Africa and their work can have a look at their website here.

We hope everyone enjoyed the Bring a Board Game to School Day and congratulations to those who won prizes in the raffle! Here are some of the children in the Middle Classroom playing games:

Thank you all so much!

Senior Room School Tour

On Tuesday the 7th of June the senior room went on their annual school tour to the National Sport's Campus and the Aquatic Centre in Blanchardstown.

We got a tour of the campus which is set on 500 acres of land & we spotted the Irish soccer team's bus...they are heading to the European Championships soon. Best of luck to the Boys in Green!

In the morning we did multi-sports games followed by gymnastics & trampolining. Our instructor represented Great Britain in gymnastics!

It was great to gain an insight into the life of an elite athlete. Maybe some day one of us will represent Ireland in the Olympic Games...

In the afternoon we had wonderful fun in the Aquatic Centre!

Sports Day

We were so lucky all last week with the weather, and thankfully it kept up for Sports Day on Friday. Well done to everyone who took part in the races, from the children to the parents! Congratulations to everyone who won a medal! Here are the overall winners from each classroom:

Active School Week-Friday

Today Trim Tennis Courts opened up for us. We had two great coaches for the day, and Dorothy and other members of the club had treats and juice for the children afterwards! There will be a summer camp on up at the Tennis Courts for children, and details will be posted on this blog when we receive the email about it!

We have also been preparing for Sports Day, and we're looking forward to seeing everyone later on!

Active School Week-Thursday

This morning we had an assembly in the halla to recognise the achievements of the Green School Committee, and the whole school, in obtaining our very first Green Schools Flag. The older members of the Committee, Elliot, Amelia and Hannah, went to the Helix in DCU last week for the Green School Flag award ceremony. Today they made a speech about the whole process and congratulated everyone on the work done in the school, and we raised our new flag.

WELL DONE EVERYONE!
Next, we went to Aura for Week 4 of our swimming lessons, which everyone is really enjoying! It's great to see the children learning such an important life skill.

Finally, we had Erica Watson who is a personal trainer in with us. She did an obstacle course with the classes and some games! You can find her on Facebook for more information about what she does!

Don't forget, Sports Day is tomorrow, from 1-3. Juniors and Seniors will stay in school until 3 tomorrow. Please have suncream and plenty of water!!! We will also need everyone to bring in a potato and spoon for the egg and spoon race (label spoon if possible, particularly for younger children!!!).  We will also be going to the tennis courts in the morning time, so if you have a racket please bring it into school (again, please label!!!).
