Active School Song

Over the past few weeks we have all been busy rehearsing, recording and making the video for our Active School song! The song was written by the 6th Class boys, Adam, Benjamin, Lionel and Reece. The 6th Class girls, Eve, Suzie and Holly, did a great job making the video to go with the song, full of pictures and clips from our Active School Week.

Have a look!

 St. Patrick’s Active School Song

This isn’t lazy what I’m about to say,
Sunshine she’s here let’s go play!
I love exercise and that’s the way.
In the air, I don’t care that’s the way we stay.

Chorus
Because I’m active
Play a long and listen to our Active School Song
Because I’m active
We are Active, we’re St. Patrick’s National School
Because I’m active
Run around and show what Active School means to you
Because I’m active
Run, swim, and play outside if that’s what you wanna do.

They come around playing different sports
Yeah...
Play lots of sports and don’t hold it back
Yeah…
I should probably tell you it’s just fine
Yeah…
Don’t play video games it’s a waste of time
Here’s why

Chorus
Because I’m active
Play a long and listen to our Active School Song
Because I’m active
We are Active, we’re St. Patrick’s National School
Because I’m active
Run around and show what Active School means to you
Because I’m active
Run, swim, and play outside if that’s what you wanna do

Bring me down a football,
We’ll play football all day long.
Bring me down a rugby ball,
We’ll play rugby all day long.
Bring me down a basketball,
We’ll play basketball all day long.
Bring me down a tennis ball,
We’ll play tennis all day long.

Chorus
Because I’m active
Play a long and listen to our Active School Song
Because I’m active
We are Active, we’re St. Patrick’s National School
Because I’m active
Run around and show what Active School means to you
Because I’m active
Run, swim, and play outside if that’s what you wanna do.

'Colm Cooper Cup' - Victory for Trim Celtic Tigers!

On Saturday the 16th of May, Trim Celtic Tigers won the 'Colm Cooper Cup' final by beating Kells Blackwater in the final. It was a 3-1 victory to Trim Celtic Tigers! It was a tough first half because there was a very strong wind and we were playing against the wind in the first half. Kells opened the scoring with a lucky goal; they kicked the ball in front of the half way line and our keeper was getting ready to save it but it sailed over his head!
Soon after their opening goal, we got a free kick a couple of yards outside the box. We were lucky because we have a good free kick taker on our team and he managed to place the ball in the top corner. In the second half, we had the advantage when the wind was with us. Shortly after the start of the second half, we scored a bullet goal that went in the top corner!
Then with ten minutes left in the game we were through with a 1 on 1 chance, our player chipped the keeper and scored. The whistle blew and we all were so happy! Then we had our photograph taken with the cup and our captain made a speech. We were then all handed our medals and went home in victory.

There will be CĂşl Camps running there over the summer, and these are a great way to start playing football or hurling for boys and girls!
