Caterpillars
Each of the classrooms were gifted with a butterfly kit from the Parent's Association. We started off with smalll caterpillars which got bigger and bigger...and have now begun to form their chrysalis!!! The next step is beautiful butterflies.
Many thanks to the Westphals for bringing in this stunning butterfly display. It shows all of the butterflies found in Ireland.
Bake Sale
Many thanks to the fantastic bakers for bringing in so many treats yesterday! The Parent Association's Bake Sale was a great success and €211 was raised! Míle buíochas for all of the generous support.
The money will be used for getting an ice cream van for Sports Day, which will take place on the 8th of June this year, weather permitting!
The Senior Room did a fantastic job as shopkeepers for the children during the day. Have a look at the busy sale...

Active School Committee
After going through the ASF surveys (many thanks to all who completed one!), the Active School Committee have begun to take steps to help everyone to enjoy being active. We have started Active Breaktimes when the committee members do stations with the PE equipment...
As a result of Kady and Hannah's milk competition success we have a €500 voucher to spend of equipment! Mr. Larke has decided that the equipment purchased will be for all of the children to use at break time!!! This will be a fantastic addition to the committee's mission to make our school more active! Here are some committee members and Hannah and Kady deciding what we should spend the money.
Don't forget our slogan, created by Maxwell:
WE CAN DO IT, YES WE CAN!
BEING ACTIVE IS OUR PLAN!
GAA v Clonard
Yesterday's GAA match against Clonad was an absolute nail biter and was the game of the season for our school team! When Meghan scored an unbelievable top corner goal with the last kick of the ball we were sure we had a victory at last...but unfortunately Clonard had a point to spare when the final whistle went.
Top class scores came from many players on the pitch, including Ella Thompson, who only began playing this year! It goes to show how skilful players can become after a few weeks of training and practice.
Player of the match was nearly impossible to decide. However, Adam Douglas gave 100% effort from start to finish. I lost track of how many interceptions he made during the game in the backs and he was involved in a lot of moves getting the ball down to our eager forwards. Well done Adam!
