Happy Halloween!

Well done to all of the boys and girls (and their parents!) on the fantastic costumes in St. Patrick's today! A massive THANK YOU to the Parent's Association for organising goodie bags, prizes and the guess the amount of sweets competition! 

Finally, we are sad to say goodbye to Hannah Ayoubi today as she is moving to a new school after the midterm. Best of luck Hannah!

Dundalk Grammar Musical

'The Addam's Family'

 



 

Many thanks to Dundalk Grammar School for inviting us to see their fantastic production of 'The Addam's Family'. The children from 3rd-6th class thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

 

 

 



Monster Music Improv

The children had a great time today at the Monster Music Improv at the Solstice in Navan! Some people even got to make monster sounds for the audience when we created The Navan Monster! 

School Trips!

DON'T FORGET: 

On 24^th October (Monday) the children in Junior Infants, Senior Infants, First Class and Second Class will be going to the Solstice in Navan to see “Monster Music Improv”.

The bus will be leaving the school at 9.20am. The show begins at 10am. The children will have something small to eat before returning to school, so please ensure your child has their packed lunch with them. The children will need to wear their school uniform on the day of the tour. There is no need for your child to bring any money with them on the day.

Junior and Senior Infants will finish school at the usual time of 2pm, and First and Second Class will finish at 3pm, as per the norm.

The tour will cost €12. This includes €7 for entry to the show and €5 for the cost of the bus. We would appreciate if the money is brought in before Friday 21^st October.



There are also trips coming up for the Senior Room. On Tuesday 25th October they are going to Dundalk Grammar to see a production of 'The Addam's Family'. On November 8th they will be going to the Solstice Theatre to watch 'Voyage'. The cost of these two trips is €12 altogether and this needs to be brought into school on or before Monday 24th October. 

My First Book of Irish Animals

Today the children in the Junior and Middle rooms went to Trim Library for a talk with Juanita Browne about her book, My First Book of Irish Animals.  The children all LOVE this book and it was really exciting to meet the author. She spoke about the animals in her book, showed us some really cool antlers, played a guessing game with us and even showed us a real bat she found at home! It was a really interesting and interactive afternoon!

Trim Library

As part of the Children's Book Festival, Trim Library are running some events for pupils in local schools. Juniors and Seniors went up to the library today for a story-telling session with Pat Ryan. The children had a great time hearing stories about bold babies and elephants, white bears and doing the penguin dance! 

Pat Ryan has worked as a teacher and a professional storyteller for over 30 years. He regularly tours Britain, Europe and the US, and has written for the BBC too. 

Many thanks to Trim Library for inviting us to this, and other events! The Junior and Middle Classrooms will be going down on Thursday for a session Juanita Browne, author of 'My First Book of Irish Animals' which the children absolutely love!

Clothing Collection Fundraiser

Congragulations Holly Brady!

Well done to Holly Brady who won a trophy for completing a four week track running programme in Bohermeen Athletic Club. What a great achievement Holly!
