School Tour Tomorrow!

On Tuesday 12th June the children in the Junior and Middle Classroom will be visiting Brickz4Kidz for their school tour. For more information about Brickz4Kidz, please visit https://www.bricks4kidz.ie/fingal-santry/school-tours/. Weather permitting, we will also be going to the Phoenix Park for a picnic and some games!

The tour will cost €22. This includes €12 for Brickz4Kidz and €10 for the cost of the bus. Could all money be brought in on or before Friday 8th June.

The children need to wear their school tracksuit on the trip.  They should bring a packed lunch and drinks, as we will not be visiting a shop on this tour. There is no need for your child to bring money with them on the day of the tour.

We are due to arrive at Brickz4Kidz at 10.15am, and so the children need to be in school by the usual time of 9.20am. All children (including Juniors and Seniors) will need to be collected at 3pm on the day of the tour.

Mountlucas Windfarm Visit Day 2

Senior pupils (3rd-6th class) from Ms Kilrane and Mr Larke's room along with Ms Grisewood went on a tour to Mount Lucas Wind Farm in Co Offaly and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The trip was educational AND fun and Catherine, our guide, was brilliantly entertaining throughout. First we had a talk about Climate change and the importance of renewable energy forms such as wind energy and then the pupils had the opportunity to try out some of the interactive games and quizzes in the Learning Hub and see a wind turbine up close (the average height is about 100 metres, just a little smaller than The Spire on O'Connell Street in Dublin)! The highlight of the tour was undoubtedly the chance to wear a virtual reality headset and experience for yourself what it's like to be inside a wind turbine and see the landscape from the very top of a turbine.... pretty cool and you'd need a head for heights!!! Check out some of our pictures from the day below....

Mountlucas Wind Farm Trip

Junior Infants to Second Class had a brilliant time yesterday at Mountlucas Wind Farm! Catherine met us off the bus and she taught the children loads about energy and Mountlucas. Have a look at some photos and videos from the trip. Thank you to Ms. Grisewood and the Green School Committee for organising the trip!

Junior Room School Tour

We had a fantastic time yesterday at Newgrange Farm. The children got to see and feed loads of animals and milk the cows. We went on a tractor drive around the farm and saw Daddy Bear, a leprechaun's castle, the farmer's bathtub and Newgrange itself! We also left the farmer behind twice!!! There were loads of great play areas too, including water play, sandpit, a hay-maze and tractors! After we held a duckling and a puppy we had our lunch outside on the picnic tables. It was such a fun and educational trip!

The teachers had a great day too!

Ready to go on our tractor ride!

We had fun trying to stay awake on the bus home...
